Some of the Labour members from Aspley Guise and Cranfield were delighted to have a stall at the Aspley Guise Village Open Day just after the election.
The event was a great opportunity for many local groups to talk to visitors about what they do, how they might help, and how people might want to become involved. It was a reminder of how much people do for our community on a voluntary basis, whether maintaining footpaths, or campaigning for the railway, or sharing local history, as just a few examples. Funds were raised towards the important aim of providing a defibrillator for the village.
We found that people are very keen to talk about politics at present and our presence aroused some excitement. Labour in Aspley Guise? Of course! We are all very keen to carry on campaigning and attract new members.
