Rhiannon Meades, Labour Parliamentary Candidate for Mid-Bedfordshire told supporters this weekend that she was excited by the plans for real change that Jeremy Corbyn announced when he launched Labour’s election campaign.
“Who could not fail to be inspired by Labour’s plan for a fairer, more equal society where we have universal, quality and properly funded public services.
As Jeremy Corbyn said “If you want to live in a society that works for everybody and not just the billionaires, if you want to save our hospitals, schools and public services from Tory cuts and privatisation, if you want to stop the big polluters destroying our environment, then this election is your chance to vote for it.
The choice could not be clearer. We put our faith in the British people’s spirit and commitment to community. It’s your country. That’s why we stand with you.”
Rhiannon went on to say, “Labour’s plans for transformational change will benefit families and communities, as well as businesses across Mid-Bedfordshire. They reflect my personal values of fairness, equality, co-operation and ensuring that no one is left behind or excluded. I know that these are also the values of many – the majority – of my fellow Mid-Bedfordshire citizens.
This is the most critical general election for a generation. It will determine what kind of country we will be. Ending child poverty, or food banks; free social care, or people left without care; decent homes, or homelessness; anxiety, or hope; worries, or smiles?
I am looking forward to campaigning on our policies. They are right for Mid-Bedfordshire and for the country.”
